Former Federal Bureau of Investigation Director James Comey Enters Not Guilty Plea to Allegations of Misleading Lawmakers

Ex- Federal Bureau of Investigation head James the ex-FBI chief has entered an innocent plea to making false statements to congressional representatives and obstructing a lawmaking procedure.

His lawyer entered the answer on his behalf in a national courtroom in Alexandria, Virginia on Wednesday morning.

His attorney stated he would try to have the legal matter terminated for multiple factors including that his the accused, a detractor of former President Trump, was being targeted.

James Comey was formally accused shortly after Trump pushed his top legal official to proceed against him.

In court on mid-week, Comey's lawyer Mr Fitzgerald told the court they planned to file various motions to terminate the proceedings before a court case, claiming the legal action was vindictive and that a government lawyer was unlawfully designated to take over the legal matter.

Mr Comey's case was originally managed by a Virginia prosecutor, who resigned under scrutiny from Donald Trump after his probe into an additional rival - New York Attorney General Letitia James - was unable to file indictments.

Via social media James Comey shared to his Instagram after he was indicted, he declared he was innocent and charged Trump of conducting himself like a "tyrant".

"We have understood for a long time that there are consequences to standing up to Donald Trump," he said. "We refuse to live on our kneeling."

The accusations against James Comey emerged after the former president published on online platforms insisting on his attorney general, the attorney general, charge the former director and other people.
